False Dilemma

Dealing with an issue as if it had only two possible alternatives.
Implying that the denial of a statement necessarily implies another arbitrarily chosen one.

General form:
"Either A or B."
"Not A, therefore B."

Typical example:
"Fungi aren't animals, therefore they're plants."

The denial of a statement includes all statements that aren't equivalent to it, not just another arbitrarily chosen one.
