Pseudoskepticism

Pseudoskepticism is an ideology that attempts to present itself as "skepticism" while actually promoting a dogmatic rejection of every idea that stands outside of academic, mediatic and/or socially accepted knowledge.
The essence of pseudoskepticism lies in 2 key points:
1) the deliberate misunderstanding of the term "skepticism", whose original meaning of "not believing" (i.e.: a lack of belief) is changed into "believing not" (i.e.: a negative belief);
2) the exclusive focusing on extra-institutional ("alternative") material, so that institutional ones are never affected by the aforementioned brand of "skepticism".
By these premises, pseudoskepticism adopts a diametrally opposite mindset compared to actual skepticism: while the latter adopts a neutral, open-minded stance towards every idea without actively promoting nor condemning any specific conclusion, pseudo-skepticism dictates an arbitrary dichotomy between "taboo" subjects who shall never be even considered, and "accepted" knowledge who shall never be questioned nor open to doubt.
